R&P Post 37: Update on Casting!

Hey there and welcome to a particularly exciting post! We have now received replies from all of our female applicants and they have sent their videos of them lip syncing to us. Below you can watch these videos:

Above: Chloe Drowley

What we liked about Chloe Drawley's performance here is that she gave a convincing performance of our actual artist and in this video as she lip syncs to the song, she seems to match the voice of the artist in the song, making her a definite option for us to choose. One thing that was not so good in her video was that she was not very expressive and although she seems to match the song, she needs to include more movement in her performance to make it more convincing.

Above: Sonera Angel

In this video we have Sonera Angel lip syncing to the last part of our song. She was a little more expressive than other applicants which is a strong positive for us as we need someone who will give a convincing portrayal of our artist. However, her expression was slightly too bold at times and seemed slightly exaggerated, meaning that she is a 'maybe' option for us.

Here we have Tiffany Dolce's lip syncing video. Overall we do not think she gave a very convincing performance or portrayal of our artist. She lacks movement in her performance, which is vital to give a convincing performance of our artist in our music video, and she does not especially match the voice of our artist. Therefore at the moment it is unlikely that she will receive the role.

Above: Mariana Elicetche

This video shows our applicant Mariana Elicetche lip syncing to the beginning of our song. We especially like her performance here as she provides lots of expression in her performance which makes it much more convincing for the audience. She is a definite possibility for us to pick but at the moment we are undecided on whether or not she would truly suit our artist.

Above: Kati Mocho

Kati Mocho is one of our favourites at the moment. In this video she sent us of her lip syncing to our song we felt that as soon as she started to lip sync the very first few words, she matched the voice of our artist and could easily represent our artist. What we liked about her performance here is that she put expression into it and she also really matched the voice of our artist, making her a definite choice for us to pick.

Above: Katy'Rose Hoyles

Just above you can watch Katy'Rose Hoyles' lip syncing video. As a group we feel that we quite like Katy'Rose's performance here but  at the same time we do not feel that it matches the voice of our artist or the song. Whilst she put some expression into her performance, it does not look very
convincing which means that she is a possibility for us but at the moment it seems unlikely that we will choose her for the role.

Overall we now have a top three of favourite applicants for the girl's role in our music video:
  • Kati Mocho
  • Chloe Drowley
  • Mariana Elicetche
We have decided that these three people are our favourites because they all gave convincing performances and they all match the voice of our artist as well as matching the song itself. However, we have decided that we are going to interview all of our applicants because we want to check all of their availability for filming over the next weekends and week beginning the 23rd of October (when we are planning to film). We are going to interview them over Skype tomorrow so come back again soon to find out how they went!
